St. Albans, Vermont · Owner-Operated
Whole-tree timber harvesting in northern Vermont — sugarbushes, farm woodlots, and forester-guided projects. Done right, the first time.
About
Gabe Parent has been working the woods of northern Vermont for years — the kind of logger landowners trust to come back. When Gabe harvests timber, he knows the land he's working on and respects what's left standing.
Parent Timber Harvesting is a one-man operation. That means Gabe is on-site every day, making every decision. There's no crew turnover, no subcontractors, no surprises.
Based in St. Albans and working throughout the northern Vermont region, Gabe takes on projects where the work has to be done carefully — sugarbushes, farm woodlots, and harvests overseen by a licensed forester.
Harvesting within a sugarbush is among the most exacting work in Vermont forestry. Gabe owns and works a sugarbush himself — he understands what's at stake with every tree that comes down and every root system that has to stay intact. That knowledge doesn't come from a manual.
Vermont farm woodlots are working assets — timber, firewood, and land health all at once. Gabe understands the farmer's relationship to their wood and works accordingly.
When a licensed forester marks a harvest, Gabe follows the prescription carefully. He's a logger foresters trust to execute — and come back to.
Approach
"The logs come out clean and the land stays sound."
Gabe works with attention to water quality, skid trails, and residual stand conditions. He follows Vermont's best management practices on every job — not because he's required to, but because it's how he was taught and how he works.
Whole-tree harvesting keeps slash out of the landing and the stand cleaned up. Gabe's equipment is maintained and matched to the terrain.
